3rd Music Video Analysis. Professor Green - Read All About It.

The deeply personal lyrics deal with the passing of Professor Green's father. This is shown through the way the narrative is constructed to show his father and the way he used to be. The track is very deep and meaningful this is relayed almost instantly with an establishing shot of Professor Green looking very 'thoughtful' and almost 'upset'.

This shot is the first thing that the viewers are really able to engage with and understand his feelings. This establishing close-up shot, along with the title of the song "Read All About It" is all about the press invading his personal life. The fact that he cant have anything private anymore not even with his father whom he didn't really speak to for most of his life. Another way in which this could be portrayed is that he finds it hard to open out to people, so writing it down and letting people read it seems like the easiest option. This challenges the usual conventions of a hip hop rapper as they are seen to be confident and never seem to let anything fase them, audiences may be able to relate and understand his emotions and therefore are able to engage fully into the video. The plan and simple background depicts that this is something that shouldn't be seen to be in your face and over the top.

I wanna sing, I wanna shout,
I wanna scream till the words dry out.
So put it in all of the papers, I’m not afraid,
They can read all about it, read all about it,

This is reinforcing the idea that he is feeling very upset about the way he feels and also most shows that he regrets not telling his father the way he feels as obviously now it is too late. This is also portraying the way the media is influencing and twisting what he is saying which from the viewers point of view could be one of the main reasons why him and his father never made up.

The fact that you see Professor Green singing in different places from different angles makes the video interesting rather than just a mid shot of him singing. This is the type of thing that I want to do with my performer is have him singing in different places and I'll take different shots which is relevant to the type of song which I am doing, maybe using the green screen.

The end shot of this video is very striking as it shows Professor Green and his younger self looking at each other with shadows. The lighting used looks really effective and has given me some ideas as to how I am going to use lighting in an effective way.

Last year's debut album Alive Till I'm Dead went double-Gold, and three hit singles contributed to a combined half-million sales. The album won awards at the MOBO's, NME and the BT Digital Music Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Things are lined up to explode with his release of upcoming album, At Your Inconvenience, released the week after this single.

In 2006, at the age of 23, he released his first mix tape, Lecture #1.

His melody-laden rhymes, metaphors and unique humour are not the only thing that makes Green so individual. He is also renowned for winning battle rap competitions and being signed by Mike Skinner. Life experiences have made him stronger, which includes being stabbed in the neck and collaborating with Lily Allen just two months later.
‘The Green Lectures Vol 1’ has host of bangers including, ‘Upper Clapton Dance, ‘Drunken Freestyle’ and ‘Stereotypical Man’. He has string features such as Skinnyman, Loudmouth and Leo The Lion. After his first record label, The Beats, went under he produced on his own an EP called The Green EP. But after he toured with Lily Allen  he was signed to Virgin Records and released "I Need You Tonight", based around INXS's "Need You Tonight" through the label. He also joined up with Lily Allen in "Just Be Good To Green" which is based around The SOS Band's "Just Be Good to Me"
